I have friends who remove the Christmas decor in their homes the day after Christmas. With a real tree, I can’t keep it up until January and it kills me to just toss the tree out to the curb. So with a little hand saw I cut the branches and recycle the branches into my planters, mantels and on my dining room table.
This is last year’s tree, but the image is the same every year!

The branches keep the season a little greener and adds a little “life” to my front {and back} porches! I love the contrast between the black planters and branches.
It kills me that Christmas lights go down in the dreary month of January. Isn’t that when most of us can use a little extra light in the long days of winter?
I add a few silver and red balls and lights and hey it’s Valentine’s Decor. The red and silver bulbs brighten my china cabinet.
Happy New Year!
